Oscommerce Quantity Discounts 17.11.08
We have a very busy UK based website, with thousands of products. The site is a very modified version of OSCommerce (or rather the Exchange Project as it was…)
The work I am proposing is to add functionality for allowing quantity discounts. I see this being incorporated as follows:
New table with product_id, quantity and price columns. We will input prices i.e
id quan price
123 1 10.00
123 2 9.50
123 6 9.00
Website displays all quan / price breaks in search listings and also product info pages. i.e [ 1 = £10.00 : 2-5 = £9.50 : 6+ = £9.00 ]
When user add item to cart, the price changes according to quantity chosen.
No admin side is needed as our existing frontend links to tables directly.
This job is urgent.
