We’re integrating a subscription management system with our Magento store.

To do this, 2 core concepts have to be built (well a few more – but to give you an idea of what I am looking for and the expertise needed here are 2 most important):

1. Develop extensions in Magento that would act like a payment module – except that it would do more than just transmit payment (like say a payment module for Authorize.net). It would transmit customer information (create them in the subscription management system if it is a new customer), along with payment information, retrieve stored payment information (masked IDs) and use that for existing customers.

2. Override the regular checkout controller in Magento in true Object oriented Zend fashion, so that we can incorporate some of the business logic in #1 and pass a different object to the Payment module instead of what is currently passed.

So the person we are looking for should be an expert in Magento, does not have to code the whole thing – I already have someone who can follow instructions and do the task. But the person should be expert enough to setup the payment module, override controllers, and provide the framework – so that the jr. developer can code within the braces.

Think of it as a troubleshooting / advisory role in an exciting project – with some places where you set software direction (by actually getting the proof of concept working in our environment)
