Hi there,

Looking for a Joomla site (preferably 1.5) for Members to log in, view and download pdf files with details of their rental properties. ie. more a Members area than a front-end site.

The homepage will be very simple – Welcome message, log-in area, Latest News section, and link to a ‘Tour’ page to illustrate benefits of Membership.

Main part of the site is for Members. And also Admin area for uploading, editing Member details, etc.

Although this is a site for Rental properties, we don’t need rental listings like Hot Property, it’s more file management. I’ve looked at Community Builder, Joomdocs <http://joomclan.com/joomdocs>, and RSFiles <http://www.rsjoomla.com/index.php/Product-pages/Buy-RSfiles-Download-Management-Component.html> but can’t see how to tailor them to work together.

The Members Area needs these functions:

1. Personal Details
Members can amend personal details as req’d, once the Admin has set up their account.

When Member amends details, an email is sent to Admin advising of changes.

Property image on right of area and caption not to be edited by Member . (Uploaded by Admin.)

2. Contact Us
An area where Member can send a message to Admin.

3. Latest News.
An area where messages from Admin display. Admin needs to be able to send messages to individual Members, to entire group, and to particular groups; ie. Members in New York.

Ability for a ‘Read More’ function for longer messages.
Link at bottom of Latest News section to Messages Archive.

4. Bottom Section: Inventory / Accounts / Inspection / Other
Pdf files displayed in distinct categories, with pdf icons for each file, date of upload and file name.

These files will be uploaded by Admin only. Members just need to download them.

It’s important that it’s easy for the Administrator to upload these files into their respective categories, as well as easy for the Members to see the different catetgories, and the files within them easily.

Will also need an archive section for older files – within their Categories.

5. Other Points:
Some Members have multiple properties… Please allow for a tabbed interface for the bottom section, so Members can tab between their different properties, if they have them. As they click between tabs, the property image changes to show a picture of that property.
(Open to other suggestions for how to display Members having multiple properties.)

6. In the image I have shown Home / My Account / Contact / Downloads / Archive across the top… Open to suggestions whether this might work better as a tabbed interface for the different areas of the Members area, or it would work just as well as a single page…

7. Important that the Administrators interface is straightforward for uploading images, uploading pdf files into the correct categories; sending messages to individual Members or Member groups, etc. A tabbed interface would be good for this.
