Basic Joomla Component 07.10.08
I have a 2 file php text manipulator that I need as a component in Joomla must be compatible with joomla 1.0.12 & higher and with joomla 1.5 (if compatibility engine with joomla 1.0 turned on).
A programmer started doing the joomla component and did most of the work...please see it here:

Please run the ORIGINAL non-joomla file so you understand what it does....it is a character replacement script....the script is very well commented
Regarding the current com (http://www.makemoneyeasyathome.com/uploadhere/com_textmanip.zip)
#1 remove the registered members only access....it doesn't allow the component to work properly
#2 he did not get the joomla admin panel right...instead of "main text" it should say "intro text". it should be a rich text area which uses the default joomla text editor instead of how it is right now.
The client side interface needs to be simplified even further.
If you see index.php...the following must be REMOVED (I believe the previous programmer already implemented all these...):
1. remove Input Title Line and field....instead replace this with File Name field so user can choose the file name to save it as
2. remove "output html source" option as it should always output as html source
3. remove "Numbered" option
4. remove "XML for Admaster? " option
5. remove "save output as html file " option
6. remove "save output as text file" option because it should now ALWAYS save as a txt file
The following is the only small change needed in functionality
1. the "generate" button should always save the output as a text file AND preview it in the pane below
Lastly...and this is important....
The component should be able to run different rules.php.
To explain further...the rules.php is what determines the exact character text replacements in this text replacement script.
I users to be able to access 4 different sets of rules.php
Both the same base script...just different set of rules....so they look the same but the output will vary greatly depending on the rules.php
4 different rule sets....this should be accomplish through using joomla task/views
